URSTRONG friendship program – Positive Behaviours for Learning

At St Rose, we are committed to fostering positive relationships and well-being, implementing the URSTRONG friendship program as a whole-school approach to social and emotional learning. URSTRONG provides students with the skills, language, and strategies needed to build, maintain, and navigate healthy friendships and relationships.

  • Grounded in research supporting whole-school approaches, URSTRONG establishes a shared language of friendship across the school community. Through explicit teaching and consistent reinforcement, students develop the skills to communicate effectively, resolve conflict, show empathy, and build positive relationships.

  • Student behaviour is supported through a tiered framework aligned with Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) principles. This provides universal support for all students, targeted interventions for those requiring additional assistance, and individualised support for students with more complex needs. Behaviour data is regularly reviewed to identify trends, guide decision-making, and ensure appropriate support.

  • URSTRONG complements St Rose’s Behaviour Support Guidelines by strengthening respectful relationships, promoting student wellbeing, and contributing to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
